Shipping Agent
A shipping agent, or freight forwarder, is a company or individual who acts as an intermediary between the shipping company and the owner of the goods or importer/exporter. The main task of a shipping agent is to help arrange the shipment of goods, starting from the collection of goods, packing, shipping, handling documents, and completing payment.
Shipping agents can also provide additional services such as advising on the best shipping routes, handling shipping-related issues such as insurance claims or damaged goods, and assisting in meeting regulatory requirements and documentation related to export-import.
Shipping agents play an important role in export-import activities, especially for small and medium-sized companies that do not have the resources to manage their own shipments. By using a shipping agent's services, companies can save time, effort, and cost, and ensure that their shipments are well organized and run smoothly.
